THE BUG RACE PAGE...

This symbol illustrates the ancient Chinese 'Ying-Yang'
philosophy of life. The outer circle represents
everything, while the black and white teardrop shapes
imply two energies: "ying" (black) and "yang" (white)
which make everything happen. They are not solidly
coloured however. Things in life are not completely
black or white, and each relies on the other for some
    of it's existance.

BREAKING NEWS OF THE RACE:

YING is ahead of YANG once more - he's opened up a lead of about a hundred and ninety miles!

YANG's News:

YANG left the starting gate on January 24th after just two days in the cache. Ma Bell and the HackPack picked him up and after spending a month riding around in their glove compartment was eventually passed on to GeoVamp.

YANG seems to be a party bug - the HackPack took him to "GeoVamp's Spring Bash Cookout" on March 1st, which is about 7.8 miles north of the start line. He evidently partied with GeoVamp - but MissBehavin finally grabbed him from there - so his current location is unknown.

YING's News:

YING was picked up by the 'starry_skies' team (1scout, MsAdventure, and BCingU) and placed in the Cottonwood Creek Combination Cache, which is 40 miles North-East of the starting point. Then Qwerty33 grabbed him and took him all the way to "Mike & Jon's Southside Cache" which is somewhere just south of Tulsa.

YING is now some 200 miles North of the starting point.

Before that, he was picked up by McLae who put him into a cache about a mile and a half to the North of the start line...but not without a story:
McLae said:

YingBug took a detour to California; Long Beach to be
exact. Unfortunatly, YingBug was not able to make it
into a cache, and returned to Texas.

YINGBUG does have a Long Beach souvineer attached.

Mmmmm'k - 2,900 miles travel for 1.2 miles of progress!

The Bug Race Cache is at:

    N 32° 36.370'
    W 96° 59.400'

YING and YANG the bugs.

YING and YANG are two 'Traveller Bugs' that set off in January on a race across the USA. They started from our "BUG RACE CACHE" in Cedar Hill, Texas (Near Dallas/Ft.Worth) with instructions that will hopefully cause friendly GeoCachers to take them step by step to the borders of Canada - and then back to Cedar Hill.

According to MapQuest, the driving distance to get to Canada from Cedar Hill and back again is around 2500 miles (1240 to the border near Detroit, 1280 if you go due north to Pembina Minnesota). They claim it would take 40 hours to drive there and back - I imagine it'll take YING and YANG a little longer!

It's not certain that either of them will ever make it back - and it's possible that someone might cheat along the way - spoiling the race for everyone. But there is a reasonable chance that they'll both eventually make it back home again in a year or two.

YING is called
YINGBUG or TB5835

Come back to this site to see how they are progressing!

Progress:

YANG was last seen in "GeoVamp's Spring Bash Cookout" - but MissBehavin now has him.
